Caron hung up her ballet shoes and dumped her boyfriend to study theatre. After university she lived in Chile teaching English and returned to London to train as a Drama teacher. Her son Joseph was born mid PGCE. Eight years later she left as head of Drama at a school in Suffolk to join Arvon in 2003.

Living in West Yorkshire with her husband and two boys has led her to meet some wonderful and interesting people. In her spare time she does voice work for radio, goes walking in those hills and renovates a house in the birth place of Ted Hughes (Mytholmroyd).
