Distilling the Good Stuff

Poetry or fiction – the same basic rules apply, and many fine poets are also writers of fiction. Finding your own voice, for both genres, is essential. This course will look at ways of using that unique voice as a tool to engage readers' hearts and minds.

Brian McCabe has had three poetry collections published, including Body Parts (Canongate). His short story collections are Selected Stories (Argyll), and A Date with my Wife (Canongate). His most recent novel is In a Dark Room with a Stranger (Penguin).

Diana Hendry’s poetry collections include Twelve Lilts: Psalms and Responses (Mariscat Press) and Borderers (Peterloo). Her short stories have appeared in anthologies and been broadcast on Radio 4.
