Creative Non-Fiction

Subversive Words

The reciprocal relationship between the writer and their subject is one of the most crucial aspects of great creative non-fiction. We will deal with writing that is interested in challenging the status quo and is politically engaged, as well as keen on being wittily idiosyncratic in both form and content. This course will explore how to write imaginative creative non-fiction that can maintain a high intellectual pitch without being either academic or journalistic.
