Looking at both the half-hour sitcom and the one hour comedy-drama TV formats, the course will give writers a grounding in character development, situation, plot, dialogue, and structure in workshops and practical sessions with the aim of building confidence and giving writers a secure template on which to develop their own work.

Tony Pitts has been a successful actor and writer for fifteen years. He won a Sony award for The Night-class (Radio 4) and his show, The Gemma Factor, is to be broadcast on BBC 3.
Keith Temple’s credits include Dr Who, Doc Martin and Angel Cake. His first novel It’s Behind You is published in 2010. He is currently writing a screenplay for Foot Soldier Films and is a story/script consultant for BBC Scotland.
Jesse Armstrong is the writer of the award-winning Peepshow, as well as In The Thick of It.
